Economic Development Advisory Board
Joseph Cassidy, P.Eng., PMP
CARBER My current role is the Operations Manager - Western Canada for an international mechanical services provider. As the Operations Manager I am directing our business development efforts and overseeing the execution of that resulting work in the energy and pipeline industries in western Canada. I arrived at this point by starting with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta. From there I began my working career in the oilfields of Alberta and worked my way into the research and development departments of several oilfield services companies. That work lead me into the project management discipline which also gave me the opportunity to work in 13 countries around the world.
I grew up in St. Albert, but spent my weekends working on the family farm in Sturgeon County. Working overseas to launch new business lines gave me insight into the challenges faced by developing economies. I returned to live in Sturgeon County when my work brought me back to Alberta; building the heavy industrial infrastructure of our energy sector. I have built a home to become the fourth generation to live on the Cassidy property in Sturgeon County. I feel that my experience can prove beneficial to the leadership groups of Sturgeon County and I am extremely proud to have been selected to be a member of the Economic Development Board.
